#Using ipad pro 2018 as external monitor for macbook pro full#
Right now, I was planning on using the iPad Pro with the Smart Keyboard, mainly so it can fold backwards, keeping the tablet functionality over full blown laptop replacement with the magic keyboard.ĭoes anyone have a similar setup to this? Does the iPad Pro have a specific niche in your workload to justify having it alongside a similar sized MacBook? Should I just go for an iPad Air just for the tablet features? The Pro is undoubtedly better, but if I won’t end up using the Pro laptop-like features, then what’s the point? Ideally, I could dock the MacBook at the desk and stick to the iPad when going to class and traveling, but realistically I feel like I would bring the MacBook as well for specific programs. Now with a MacBook in the picture, I worry that I won’t use the iPad Pro enough to justify it. I was initially going to use the iPad Pro as a laptop substitute (I have an old laptop that would’ve been used whenever I needed a specific program downloaded unavailable on iPadOS), in addition to the other tablet features like drawing and watching videos. I have a 12.9 in iPad Pro ordered, and since then I’ve learned I’m getting a 2020 13” MacBook Pro as part of my program in my university. Thank you for reporting spam and other rule-breaking content.
